Hannah's chair project
We went to the Ostend flea market 2 weeks ago, and Hannah bought a pair of director's chair for $5. It was a real steal, but the chair was in a need for some TLC... so Hannah decided to take on this project and turn them into "new" chairs... and I must say, I am really proud of her final products as well

The original chairs! See how dirty the chair is and how wash-out the canvas are...

The sanding process...

The cleaning process...

Staining the chair...

The finished product!

Hannah enjoying a glass of Gin and Tonic. Got cheap Gin for $12 but it almost taste the same after the third glass! :P

Wow... what a summer

This has been the busiest and most wonderful summer since we arrived in New Zealand. First there was Alfred and Cheryl visiting during Christmas, followed closely by Nori. Than John dropped by after his research trip in Australia. We spend a few good days diving in the North Island of NZ. Finally, Hannah's parents was here as well to celebrate her birthday...One of the most memorable moments was the finish of Tongariro Crossing... everyone had a beer in their hand and a great smile of achievement on their face...
The new school semester has already started a month ago. Hannah is doing her postgraduate in Neuropharmacolgy and I am in my final semester of my Masters. Hannah is spending a lot of time reading papers, doing her homework and presentations. On the other hand, most of my time is spend writing my thesis. We also started more actively involved in the Auckland University Underwater Club, doing more and cheaper dives at every chance we can get...
