Double Down!

KFC "Double Down" burger has just arrived in New Zealand, and the restaurants are only offering them for a month. Much to the surprise of a lot of our friends, Hannah and I decided we should at least have a try... It actually turned out to be quite an event! After 4 tries, one of them was because the restaurant had already sold out of the Double Down burgers for the day!... we finally got to fulfill our dream 2 days ago...

Hannah ordered the burger and a drink, and I went for the Combo!... The verdict : Once is enough. If you love fried chicken, it is actually quite a treat. Slices of cheese and bacon held together by 2 pieces of tender fried chicken breast...what could be better than this!? Furthermore, if you are a poor student like us, a meal like this would probably last you for 2 days or at least a whole day :) The amount of calories per Double Down meal is equivalent to what someone would need for 2 days.

Bottom line, the burger taste great!... but watch those calories!

Stress....

Sorry for not been writing for a while. These couple of weeks have been pretty stressful. Hannah has been really busy with writing papers and reports for her classes, and I have been trying to finish writing my thesis. Paul Kench, my adviser always have new things to add and change, and it seems I would never be able to finish the writing. However, all the advise he gave really help to make my thesis better, so in hindsight, I should stop complaining so much about the changes.

Besides the school work, there is always work..teaching in the Lab is fun, but with it comes commitment. This also takes precious time away from writing and numerous other stuffs that need to be done.

I also started to think about the topics I want to work on for my PhD. It would probably involve coral reefs, hydrodynamics, microbes, DNA and RNA sequencing! I would tell you guys more about that once I worked out a couple of details these next few weeks.

Finally, as always, there are tons of "projects" around the house that needs to be done!..Gardening, fixing the van, cleaning the house and the deck, training the dogs etc. FUN TIME!

On a lighter note, here is a video which was posted by our friend, Becca.. and we just couldn't stop laughing after watching it. Enjoy.
