Just received a rejection email from XXX journal about my submission on my manuscript on "High resolution flow patterns around coral colonies". This was my MSc paper, and between the dates when it was conducted until the day it was submitted for review (which was 3 months ago), there was so much development in the hydrodynamics field! The methods and knowledge from this study was probably not novel anymore after these three years!
It is never easy to deal with rejections. I read somewhere that no matter what happens, it is important to publish the study as it is a closure. It may never be cited, but at least it gives an end point to the study. I am going to indulge in some vices for the weekend, not looking at the reviewers' comments, and re-visit the paper next week to plan out what is my next course of action.
Wish me good luck.
Good luck! Hope you were able to shake it off last weekend.
