Road trip Day 14 - Kaitoke Regional Park, Wellington (Rivendell)

We have been on the road for 2 weeks now! We are staying at the same place tonight because I would be flying back to Auckland tomorrow for my US visa interview at the consulate. We had counted the cost, and it is more efficient and cheaper to fly back then drive all the way back to Auckland.

We spend the morning exploring some short tracks around the park. It was very nice to see some of the exact locations where Lord Of The Rings movies were filmed. Hannah and I were here years ago, and the park has made the track nicer and wider, and there are more benches and sign boards explaining the filming locations.

Rivendell was just about 40 minutes north of Wellington. We drove to Wellington to run some errands (printing, printing passport photos etc), gave my dissertation to my co-supervisor's admin assistant at Victoria University, and had lunch at the famous Cuban cafe, Fidel.
